How I Measure Hemp Necklaces & Bracelets
A simple guide to choosing the right length
Choosing the right length for a necklace or bracelet can make all the difference in how it feels and looks. Since my hemp jewelry is handmade and adjustable, I want to clearly explain how I measure each piece and what customers should know before ordering.
This guide will help you feel confident when selecting the length that’s right for you.
1. Necklace Lengths on the Body (14”–30”)

This photo shows a 17" necklace worn by a young man who is 6'4” tall. Body proportions and fit may vary. Use this image as a general reference.
Hemp necklaces can sit very differently depending on body type, neck size, and personal style. Here’s a general guide:
-
14–16 inches – Close to the neck / choker length
-
18–20 inches – Collarbone area (classic everyday length)
-
22–24 inches – Upper chest
-
26–30 inches – Long, relaxed, layered look
💡 Tip:
Men often prefer longer lengths (22–26”), while women may prefer anything from a choker to a long pendant style — but it’s always a personal choice.
2. How I Measure Hemp Necklaces

Because hemp necklaces are braided and knotted by hand, I measure them in a specific and consistent way:
👉 Necklace length is measured from the first knot to the final knot of the braid.
👉 Loops, beads, and adjustable ties are NOT included in the length measurement.
This ensures:
-
Consistency across all listings
-
Accurate comparison between styles
-
Enough adjustment room when worn
If you are between sizes or unsure, I always recommend choosing a slightly longer length — adjustable hemp makes it easy to shorten visually but not lengthen.

3. Bracelet Measurements (Quick Note)
Bracelets are measured flat, from end to end of the braided section, excluding closure loops and ties.
Most bracelets are adjustable and designed to comfortably fit a range of wrist sizes.
If you have a larger or smaller wrist than average, feel free to reach out — I’m happy to help.
4. Closure Styles Explained
I use a few different closure styles in my hemp jewelry:

Hemp jewelry is meant to feel natural, comfortable, and personal. Since every piece is handmade, small variations are normal — and part of what makes each necklace or bracelet unique.
